Compliance & Regulation

Introducing clients to a mortgage adviser is generally not a regulated activity under FSMA 2000, provided you are not giving mortgage advice yourself. Ever North handles all FCA-regulated activity.

Depending on the nature of your referral arrangement, you may be registered as an Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR) of Ever North on the FCA Register, or operate under a simple written referral agreement. We will advise on the appropriate structure at registration.

You must not give mortgage or financial advice as part of your referral activity. Your role is limited to passing client contact details and general information to Ever North.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an FCA licence to introduce clients?

No. Introducing clients who need mortgage advice is generally not a regulated activity under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, provided you do not give mortgage advice yourself. Ever North handles all regulated activities.

How much will I earn per referral?

Referral fees are agreed at registration and are competitive with market rates. Payment is made monthly via bank transfer once the mortgage case completes. There is no minimum threshold.

How long does it take for clients to be contacted?

Our advisers aim to contact referred clients within 1 business day of receiving the referral. You will be kept informed of the status of your referrals.

What information do I need to provide when making a referral?

Simply provide the client's name, contact number, and a brief overview of their requirement (e.g. first-time buyer, remortgage, buy-to-let). Our advisers handle everything from there.

Is there a minimum number of referrals required?

No. There is no minimum volume requirement. You can refer as many or as few clients as you like. Many of our introducers refer clients as an add-on to their existing professional service.
